About Us

Garcia May & Associates was founded in 1953 by GR May. In 1961, the firm moved from Downtown Dallas to the suburbs of East Dallas. A final move was made in 1978 to our current location at 8035 Thornton Freeway.

In 1973, Jerry May graduated from East Texas State University (now known as Texas A&M-Commerce) with a degree in Accounting & Finance and immediately began working for May & Associates.

Soon after Jerry arrived, Carol Davis was hired as an accountant. They both took on the challenge of public accounting and purchased the firm from GR May in 1987. Carol retired from Garcia May & Associates in 2011 but continues to lend her expertise as a consultant.

Gene May came on board in 1984, where he perfected the science of creating and building financial records using the newest computer software available. He’s a professional expert in programs such as Creative Solutions, Ace Write-Up, Drake, Quickbooks, Microsoft Office and many others.

ARMANDO GARCIA

In 2003 we hired Armando Garcia as a bookkeeper and tax preparer. Shortly after that, he revolutionized the firm by implicating more efficient ways to personalize our services for you. He is a Quickbooks Pro Advisor and is currently on the path to become an IRS Enrolled Agent.

We are a firm of three accountants that have the best to offer you. Together we are continuing the legacy of May & Associates!
